Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life - September 2009
The Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life will take place across Canada from September 12 to 27, 2009. Support the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life in your community to help family, friends, and neighbours living with HIV/AIDS.
As a national event, cities and communities across the country will host local walks to raise funds for local services.
Awareness of HIV/AIDS is important for health and social reasons. AIDS/HIV medical research and treatment must continue to be a national concern, as more Canadians are newly diagnosed every day.
Socially, Poz people live richer, healthier lives when they are able to participate in their community without concern for being stigmatized. Some of us are fortunate to have to the support of family and friends. Others are not so lucky. Awareness teaches people that it's safe to have Poz friends.
We encourage Poz Social members to participate in the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life. Walk, volunteer, or donate. It's a great opportunity to meet and socialize with Poz and Poz-friendly people.
